Lydia has been a  Foster Mom for over 25 years.

They gave us more than we could have ever given them

All they wanted was to be a family.

Lydia emphasizes the importance of supporting foster children, advocating for mentorship, and encouraging others to become foster parents.

To help these children succeed.

Lydia Ramirez, supported her foster children by providing them with love, attention , and structure.

She and her husband established routines and good habits, enrolled the children in school and ensure they received Kumon tutoring and participated in sports to build their self esteem and confidence.

Lydia also worked to make them feel part of their family and helped them develop  routines and talents.

Her husband taught them practical skills, and they both focused on making the children feel important, confident, and loved.

Lydia’s mission for foster children is to empower them to feel confident and bring clarity into their lives.

She aims to set them up for success by providing love, guidance, and structure, helping them realize their divinely given gifts, and ensuring they have a chance to be productive members of society and to not fall through the cracks of the justice system. She emphasized the importance of fostering self esteem, confidence, and a sense of belonging in these children who often face significant challenges and have been given a bad label .

Jose played a significant role in supporting their foster children by being present as a Foster Father and being their for each of the boys when they needed to talk

Also teaching them practical skills and making them feel important, confident, and loved.

He established routines and good habits and he showed each of the boys a skill set that each of them could use in their lives.

By doing this he also helped build their self esteem and confidence by involving them in sports and other activities.

His efforts contributed to the boy’s personal growth and success.

Lydia & Jose faced several challenges with their foster children, including, trust issues.

It took a while for the boys to trust Lydia and Jose as they were initially scared and hesitant.

Academic difficulties, the boys had missed a lot of school and needed significant help to catch up academically.

Social stigma,

Lydia felt that school leaders looked at her foster children sideways, which was different from the reception her biological children received

Emotional struggles,

One of the boys came home crying after being made fun of in school, highlighting the emotional and social challenges they faced.

Build self esteem,

The boys needed help building their self esteem and confidence.

Which Lydia and Jose addressed with tutoring and involving them in sports.

Despite these challenges, Lydia and Jose worked hard to provide a loving and structured environment for the boys, helping them to thrive.

This was definitely A Team effort

Brother Joseph (Coach Joe) led the boys to win the 1st CCS High school Championship & Sister Lydia, who was their big sister in collage also a role model who became a foster mom.
This journey was and continues to be loving & nurturing.

Lydia’s husband Jose was a Vietnam War Veteran who received a Bronze Star for his valor.
Now he is our Angel
